The /k/ sound and the /g/ sound

In my speech group, I like to describe these as back sounds. You make both sounds in the back of your mouth (almost to your throat). I call these brother and sister sounds because you make them the same way in your mouth. The /k/ sound is quiet and you do not turn your voice on and the /g/ sound is "voiced" and you use your voice for him. This sound develops on average by age 4.
